The Development Team: Adrian Gould, Ralph Mattner, Bree Ferguson, Teresa Ingrilli, Bethan Davies |
This website was designed and created by three Swan TAFE (Midland campus) students: Bree, Teresa and Bethan.
All three students completed the following courses:
- C475 Certificate IV in Information Technology (Website Design)
- C476 Diploma in Information Technology (Website Development)
Bree's Role:
Bree was responsible for the implementation and updating of the Library Site template. She has been the
main programmer for the website. Bree now has an extremely good knowlegde of PHP and MySQL. Bree
was also responsible for connecting the website to the server and uploading it. Bree also created
the external Cascading Style Sheets (css) to keep the site consistent.
Teresa's Role:
Teresa came up with the original Design which Bree then implemented. Most of the graphics
were designed and created by Teresa. The most obvious being the rollovers (right) on the
home page.
She was in charge of the Foxtel Databases and the Search for the entire site. Teresa worked a lot on
consistency throughout the site and transferring many pages from the original library site to the
new template.
Bethan's Role:
Bethan joined the group later where she worked strenuously and completed the Weblinks Database.
This was no easy task.... infact it was one of the most difficult tasks of this project.
Adrian Gould (lecturer, C476):
Adrian was the project manager as this website was originally given to Adrian's C476 Web Development class
as an assignment for completion. Once the prototypes were finished by each team, the library staff then chose the one they like the best.
The winning team then had to complete the full site to go live in January of 2005. Adrian helped out many times with programming difficulities whenever asked and even
spared a large amount of time with for some of his thoughts and ideas. Bree, Teresa and Bethan are extremely thankfull to Adrian for his help and support as some of the problems that came to be may not have been solved without him.
Ralph Mattner (library Administrator, Client):
Ralph was the original website developer for the old Library website. He and Ray
White helped to transfer data into the new template. Ralph and other Librarian
staff (such as Jenny Heathcote) shared the role of content manager, making sure that all content was
written correctly and up-to-date.
