Multimedia Production Services

Digital Photography*

The college owns several easy to use still digital cameras as well as video cameras which are available for use by students (for course work) and staff. The still cameras can be used to provide photographs for newsletters, web design, photoshop, powerpoint, word processing documents and multimedia purposes. The camera saves these high quality images in a JPEG format which can be transferred using the camera or the PC's downloading software. Video cameras are also available for recording demonstrations, special projects and presentations. A member of staff must have the camera(s) issued to them first before giving them to the student(s)

Lecture Theatre (Midland)

The lecture theatre seats 98 people. Facilities in the lecture theatre include video and computer projection, film projection, slide projection, sound system. Booking for the Lecture Theatre are made at the library ext 6274. Additionally staff can use the Intranet (under the links heading) to load a Microsoft Powerpoint, Word, or Excel file or Jpeg images straight to the multimedia projector alleviating the need for a PC. Should students wish to access these facilities for presentation purposes, please arrange this with your lecturer.

Multimedia Services

The library offers an extensive range of multimedia products and services. This includes the equipment such as: laptops, multimedia (data) projectors and scanners for college use. Additionally via the Midland campus, services include: video editing, the conversion of video to various formats - including burning to DVD, dubbing, slide scanning to digital stills, Powerpoint assistance, as well as advice on audio-visual related matters.
