FOCUS ON LEARNING

Focus on Learning: a framework for the provision of learning resources, library and information services in vocational education and training. Endorsed by the National TAFE Chief Executives Committee. 1995. ISBN 0 7308 5006 8

The development of FOL was funded by the National Flexible Delivery Working Party and the Education and Student Sertvices Standing Committee of the NTCC with the aim to develop nationally agreed guidelines for TAFE Libraries/Learning Resource Centres. In addition to a framework for the provision of learning resources and services to students of the vocational education and training sector, perfromance indicators and measures of quality management are included.

The following document represent training materials distributed to TAFE libraries at the workshop on FOL conducted by Di Booker at the National TAFE Section, Biennial ALIA conference "TAFE Libraries, a quality service?" held in Brisbane in September 1995.

  • Oview.ppt Presentation which includes notes on each slide. Provides an overview of Focus on Learning, development, contents etc.
  • Planning.ppt Presentaion only, linked to Link.doc. Can be used with Wshop.doc
  • Text.doc Text which provides an overview of Focus on Learning, development, contents etc. Can be used with Overview.ppt and can be changed to suit your situation.
  • Wshop.doc Workshop learning guide. Provides a guide to workshopping the Planning Framework charts, partcularly the Impact Analysis charts. Can be changed to suit your situtation.
  • Link.doc This file is a copy of wshop.doc BUT IS LINKED TO planning.ppt. Any changes you make to the charts in this file will be reflected in the Powerpoint presentation. I would suggest you DO NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES unless you want to change the layout of the slides.

These files were supplied on a disc in a folder a:/FOCUSONL. If you want the linking to work, you will need to reconstitute the files into a local folder.
