Dulcie and Eunice Buttsworth
In 1914 Dulcie Buttsworth studied Dresscutting at Midland Junction Technical School and the following year her sister Eunice studied Shorthand.
Their parents, James and Georgina had come to Western Australia from New South Wales in the late 1890s. In 1908, after various successful ventures, including a wood yard in Roe Street and six horse-drawn taxi cabs in Mosman Park, James established a news agency in Midland Junction. In 1910 he bought virgin land at Ardath, and while he established a farm there and another at Narrambeen, Georgina looked after the family of eight girls and a boy; and ran the news agency which would expand to include a haberdashery.
