Marlene Stanley
1985Marlene Stanley first explored the technique of glass slumping under Esme Best during the mid 1980s while studying for her Diploma of Art. Since then she has applied her skills to produce a diverse range of pieces, from large scale water walls and church windows to more utilitarian items such as platters and bowls.
Works featured are part of her January 2004 exhibition at the Whiteman Park Gallery. She also regularly exhibits at the Mundaring Arts Centre where she helps manage the gift shop and set up exhibitions.

In the late 1980s Marlene ran a community arts project for the College as part of Aboriginal Access, teaching groups of Aboriginal people silk-screening, printing and sewing, often in their own homes. This was the forerunner of the current Aboriginal Art Program. Marlene has continued to teach in a voluntary capacity running workshops for children through the Mundaring Arts Centre.
